Cook Inletkeeper is a nonprofit organization formed by Alaskans in 1995 to promote clean water, healthy salmon and the strong local economies they support.  The Wetdog Race poses untold impacts to a vast array of Alaskan resources, and DNR’s land use permit reflects a rubber-stamp approach to project reviews that creates a dangerous precedent.

The Friends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges  are concerned that 1,000 speeding jet skis and thousands of ocean fuel spills will cause major damage to the wildlife that depend on the National Wildlife Refuges, especially the millions of nesting and feeding seabirds and marine mammals that are threatened or endangered.

Kachemak Bay Coalition

Rika Mouw rika@alaska.com

Homer, AK

Member of the Kachemak Bay Coalition, a citizens group that promotes the uniqueness of Kachemak Bay. My concern about this particular issue is that is allows for an activity that serves an extremely narrow group of people at the expense of our natural resources as well as a financial one to the citizens of Alaska . This event is ill conceived and was very poorly reviewed by DNR.
